What should you do if you are without power?
- Check to see if your neighbors have power. If they do, the outage may be limited to your home.
- Check your circuit breaker panel or fuse box. If a breaker has tripped or a fuse has blown, reset it or replace it.
- If you have a generator, follow the manufacturer's instructions for safe operation.
- Do not open your refrigerator or freezer unless absolutely necessary. Food will stay cold for several hours in a closed refrigerator or freezer.
- If you have any medical equipment that requires electricity, make sure you have a backup plan in place.
- If you are concerned about your safety, call 911.
