Connie Nielsen, who played Lucilla in the 2000 epic Gladiator, recently revealed that she was privy to a major plot twist in the upcoming sequel, Gladiator 2. In an interview with Variety, Nielsen shared that she already knew about the twist while filming the original movie with Russell Crowe.
"I had like a personal secret," Nielsen said. "I knew something that nobody else knew, and it was really hard to keep it in."

Nielsen did not reveal the exact nature of the plot twist, but she did say that it is a "big" one. "It's something that's going to be really exciting for the audience," she said. "It's something that they're not going to expect."
There have been several theories circulating online about what the plot twist could be. Some fans believe that it involves the return of Maximus Decimus Meridius (Crowe's character), who was killed at the end of the first movie. Nielsen expressed her excitement for Gladiator 2, saying that she believes it will be a "great" movie. "I think it's going to be a really powerful film," she said. "It's going to have all the elements that made the first one so successful, but it's also going to have some new surprises."
