Breanna Stewart Signs With Phoenix Mercury

The Phoenix Mercury have signed Breanna Stewart, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft.

Stewart, a 6-foot-4 forward from the University of Connecticut, is considered one of the best players in the world.

She was the AP Player of the Year and the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player in 2016.

Stewart has won two NCAA championships with Connecticut and was named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player in both 2014 and 2016.

She also helped the United States win a gold medal at the 2016 Olympics.

The Mercury have not won a WNBA championship since 2014, but they are hoping that Stewart can help them get back to the top.

Phoenix finished with a 16-18 record last season, but they have a strong core of players led by Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, and DeWanna Bonner.

Stewart is expected to make an immediate impact for the Mercury.

She is a versatile player who can score, rebound, and defend.

She is also a good passer and has a high basketball IQ.

The Mercury are excited to add Stewart to their roster.
