Stade de Reims, Toulouse FC Earn Promotion to Ligue 1

Historic Clubs Return to Top Flight After Years in Ligue 2

Stade de Reims and Toulouse FC have both secured promotion to Ligue 1, the top tier of French football, after impressive campaigns in Ligue 2 this season.

Stade de Reims, who were relegated from Ligue 1 in 2016, finished second in Ligue 2 this season, just one point behind champions Le Havre. The club has a rich history, having won six Ligue 1 titles in the past, and will be hoping to make an immediate impact on their return to the top flight.

Toulouse FC, who were relegated from Ligue 1 in 2020, finished third in Ligue 2 this season, securing automatic promotion alongside Le Havre and Stade de Reims.

The two clubs will replace Metz and Bordeaux, who were both relegated from Ligue 1 this season.
