NFL 2024 Week 9 early inactives: Commanders scratch Brian Robinson after pregame workout
Robinson was expected to start but was downgraded after the workout.
Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson was scratched from the lineup just before the team's Week 9 game against the Minnesota Vikings due to an undisclosed injury.
Robinson was expected to start but was downgraded after the workout.
Robinson was expected to start for the Commanders, but he was downgraded to questionable after the pregame workout. He was eventually ruled out shortly before kickoff.
This is a big blow to the Commanders, who are already without starting running back Antonio Gibson (ankle). Robinson has been a key part of the Commanders' offense this season, rushing for 429 yards and three touchdowns.
The Commanders will now likely turn to J.D. McKissic and Jaret Patterson in the backfield. McKissic is a pass-catching specialist, while Patterson is a more traditional runner.
The Vikings are favored by 3.5 points in this game. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET.
