Monaghan: Red Bull not giving up in quest for F1 constructors' title
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner says his team is not giving up on their quest for the Formula 1 constructors' title despite losing ground to Ferrari in recent races.
Red Bull has won three of the last four drivers' championships with Max Verstappen, but they have not won the constructors' title since 2013. Ferrari has won the last two constructors' championships and currently leads Red Bull by 104 points in the standings.
Despite the deficit, Horner says Red Bull is still fighting hard for the title.
"We're not giving up," Horner said. "We know it's going to be tough, but we're going to keep pushing until the end. We have a great team and we believe we can win both championships."
Red Bull has been hampered by reliability problems this season, but Horner says the team has made progress in recent races. He believes that if Red Bull can continue to improve their reliability, they can challenge Ferrari for the title.
"We've had some reliability issues this season, but we're getting on top of them now," Horner said. "We've made some good progress in recent races and we're confident that we can continue to improve."
The next race on the Formula 1 calendar is the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Horner says Red Bull is looking forward to racing at home and they are hoping to close the gap to Ferrari in the standings.
"We're excited to be racing at Silverstone," Horner said. "It's our home race and we're hoping to put on a good show for the fans. We're going to be pushing hard to close the gap to Ferrari and we believe we can win the race."
