A man has been arrested after a burglary at the home of England cricket captain Ben Stokes.
Police were called to the property in County Durham on Tuesday evening after a break-in was reported.
It is understood that a number of items were stolen from the house, including jewellery and watches.
Stokes, who led England to victory in the 2019 Cricket World Cup, was not at home at the time of the break-in.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the burglary and is currently in police custody.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: “Police were called to a report of a burglary at an address in County Durham on Tuesday evening.
“A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
