Laura Muir to Receive 2025 European Indoor Medal This Weekend

British middle-distance runner Laura Muir is set to finally receive her 2025 European Indoor Championships 1500m bronze medal this weekend at the Müller Indoor Grand Prix in Glasgow.

Muir finished third in the race in Istanbul in March 2023, but the medal ceremony was postponed after Russian athlete Yekaterina Sharmina, who originally finished second, was disqualified for a doping violation.

The bronze medal was then supposed to be awarded to Muir at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, but the ceremony was again postponed due to a scheduling issue.

Muir is now set to receive the medal at the Müller Indoor Grand Prix in Glasgow, where she will be competing in the 1000m.

The Müller Indoor Grand Prix is a World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting, and will be held at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow on Saturday 11 February 2023.

Muir is one of the most successful British athletes of recent years, and has won multiple medals at the European Championships, World Championships and Olympic Games.

She is the current European indoor 1500m champion, and won the silver medal at the 2023 World Athletics Championships.
