Las Vegas WNBA: A Comprehensive Overview
Introduction
The Las Vegas Aces are the newest addition to the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team began play in 2018 and is owned by MGM Resorts International.
The Aces play their home games at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Paradise, Nevada. The team's head coach is Becky Hammon, a former All-Star player and three-time Olympic gold medalist.
Team History
The Las Vegas Aces were founded in 2017 as an expansion team. The team's first season was in 2018, and they finished with a 14-20 record.
In 2019, the Aces improved to a 21-13 record and made their first WNBA playoff appearance. The team lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Seattle Storm.
In 2020, the Aces finished with a 18-4 record, the best record in the WNBA. The team won their first WNBA championship by defeating the Connecticut Sun in the WNBA Finals.
