Interview: Metal Gear Would Be 'Too Much Pressure' for Vampire Survivors Maker
Vampire Survivors developer Luca Galante continues to rule out major changes to the hit roguelite
Despite the recent release of the Legacy of the Moonspell DLC and a roadmap that runs to the end of the year, Vampire Survivors developer Poncle is already thinking about its next game, creative director Luca Galante has revealed in an interview. However, don't expect it to be a Metal Gear Solid-style stealth game.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Galante said that he's a big fan of the Metal Gear Solid series, but that he doesn't think he could handle the pressure of making a stealth game.
"I really like Metal Gear Solid," Galante said. "But I think that kind of game is too much pressure for me. I like to do things that are more chilled, more relaxed. I don't like to put too much pressure on myself or on the team."
Galante also said that he's not interested in making a sequel to Vampire Survivors. "I think Vampire Survivors is a complete game," he said. "I don't think it needs a sequel. I think we can just keep adding content to it."
So what can we expect from Poncle's next game? Galante didn't say much, but he did say that it will be "something completely different" from Vampire Survivors.
"I want to make something that's unique," Galante said. "Something that's never been done before. I want to surprise people."
Whatever Poncle's next game turns out to be, we're sure it will be worth checking out. In the meantime, we can continue to enjoy Vampire Survivors and its ever-growing list of content.
