'I’m in the garage': Enda McGinley on lockdown as Errigal win sets up family affair with Cargin
The brotherly battle won't be happening this summer due to Covid-19, but Enda McGinley is hoping to catch a glimpse of his sibling Ryan in action in an Ulster final nonetheless
Lockdown may have put a dampener on the McGinley family's Ulster final plans, but Enda is hoping he'll still be able to catch a glimpse of his younger brother Ryan in action.
The two brothers were set to go head-to-head in the provincial decider this summer, with Enda's Slaughtneil set to face Ryan's Cargin.
However, with the GAA season put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, those plans have been put on hold.
"You look forward to those days, but sure look, it's beyond anybody's control," said Enda.
"It's a strange feeling because you are preparing for a game, and then all of a sudden it's gone."
"But look, health is more important. If we can get back to normality, playing football will be a bonus."
In the meantime, Enda has been keeping himself busy by helping out on the farm and doing a bit of DIY.
"I'm doing a bit of painting and decorating and setting up an office at the back of the house," he said.
"I'm in the garage most days. I've been doing a bit of painting and decorating and setting up an office at the back of the house. I'm just trying to keep busy."
Despite the disappointment of not being able to play in an Ulster final, Enda is confident that Slaughtneil will be back stronger than ever when the GAA season does resume.
"We'll just have to wait and see what happens," he said.
"We'll just have to take it one day at a time."
