Verstappen penalised for impeding Alonso during qualifying
Max Verstappen has been handed a five-place grid penalty for impeding Fernando Alonso during qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The incident occurred during Q3 when Verstappen was on a slow lap and Alonso was on a fast lap. Verstappen moved to the left to let Alonso past, but then moved back to the right, forcing Alonso to brake.
The stewards deemed that Verstappen's actions were "unsportsmanlike conduct" and handed him a five-place grid penalty.
Sainz penalised for speeding under red flag
Carlos Sainz has been handed a three-place grid penalty for speeding under a red flag during qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The incident occurred during Q2 when Sainz was on a flying lap when the red flag was waved due to an accident involving George Russell.
The stewards deemed that Sainz had "failed to slow down sufficiently" under the red flag and handed him a three-place grid penalty.
Hamilton penalised for crossing the pit entry line
Lewis Hamilton has been handed a two-place grid penalty for crossing the pit entry line during qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The incident occurred during Q3 when Hamilton was on a flying lap and crossed the pit entry line on the exit of Turn 13.
The stewards deemed that Hamilton had "failed to respect the pit entry line" and handed him a two-place grid penalty.
