Chris Davies reveals what surprised him about Sutton United approach as Birmingham City march on
Sutton United to host Birmingham City in FA Cup fifth round
Sutton United will host Birmingham City in the FA Cup fifth round after both clubs progressed from their fourth-round ties on Saturday.
Sutton won 3-1 at League Two rivals Leyton Orient, while Birmingham beat Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at St Andrew's.
It will be the first time that Sutton, who are in the fifth tier of English football, have reached the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Davies surprised by Sutton's approach
Sutton manager Matt Gray made eight changes to his team for the tie against Leyton Orient, but the visitors still took the lead through Donovan Wilson's 20th-minute penalty.
Sutton leveled through Will Randall's deflected effort just before half-time, and took the lead for the first time in the tie when Omar Bugiel pounced on a loose ball in the area.
Craig Eastmond made sure of the victory with a third goal in the 89th minute.
Sutton deserve their place in the fifth round
Sutton's victory was their third in this season's FA Cup, and they have now beaten three League Two clubs and a League One club to reach the fifth round.
They are the lowest-ranked team left in the competition, and their run to the fifth round is a testament to their team spirit and determination.
Birmingham City will be a tough test for Sutton in the fifth round, but the Non-League side will be confident of causing an upset.
