Burnley man out on loan taken to hospital after falling unconscious in dressing room
James Tarkowski rushed to hospital after collapsing in Fleetwood dressing room
The Burnley defender is on loan at Fleetwood Town and was taken to hospital after collapsing in the dressing room following Saturday's match against Portsmouth.
Tarkowski, 29, played the full 90 minutes of the League One clash at Fratton Park, which Fleetwood lost 2-1.
After the match, he collapsed in the dressing room and was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.
A Fleetwood statement said: "James Tarkowski was taken to hospital after collapsing in the dressing room following today's match against Portsmouth.
"He is currently undergoing tests and we will provide an update on his condition as soon as possible."
Burnley boss Vincent Kompany said: "We are aware of the situation and our thoughts are with James and his family at this time.
"We will continue to monitor the situation and provide any support that we can."
Tarkowski has been a key player for Fleetwood this season, making 17 appearances in all competitions.
He is a product of the Burnley academy and has made over 100 appearances for the Clarets.
