Brierley Hill in Bloom: Nature takes centre stage at next Dudley borough celebration
Flowers, food and competitions galore as festival returns to the bustling town
Around 26,000 plants have been planted across Brierley Hill town centre as part of the preparations for the Brierley Hill in Bloom festival which kicks off on June 13.
The annual celebration of the town's green-fingered talents returns for its 12th year – and this time it's bigger and better than ever.
The festival will run for two weeks, and will include a host of floral displays, workshops, competitions and events.
One of the highlights of the festival is the Brierley Hill in Bloom competition, which is open to businesses, schools and residents.
There are a number of categories in the competition, including Best Business Display, Best School Display and Best Resident Display.
The competition is judged by a panel of independent experts, and the winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony on June 27.
In addition to the competition, there will also be a number of other events taking place during the festival, including:
- A plant sale
- A gardening workshop
- A children's craft activity
- A guided walk of the town's floral displays
- A live music performance
Brierley Hill in Bloom is a free event, and everyone is welcome to attend.
