Brentford boss Frank hoping for Ajer boost against Fulham
Bees boss set to welcome back defender for west London derby
Brentford boss Thomas Frank is hoping to have Kristoffer Ajer available for the west London derby against Fulham on Saturday.
The Norwegian defender has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, but he returned to training this week and could be in contention to start against the Cottagers.
Frank said: "Kristoffer is back in training and we will see how he is over the next few days. He is a big player for us and we missed him against Brighton and Arsenal."
Brentford have struggled in Ajer's absence
Brentford have struggled in Ajer's absence, conceding seven goals in their last two games.
Frank will be hoping that the defender's return will help to shore up his defence and give his team a better chance of beating Fulham.
Fulham are in good form, having won their last two games, and they will be looking to make it three wins in a row against Brentford.
The Cottagers have a good record against Brentford, having won four of their last five meetings.
However, Frank is confident that his team can get a result against their local rivals.
He said: "Fulham are a good team, but we are confident that we can beat them. We have a good record at home and we are looking to continue that on Saturday."
