Arizona Ends San Francisco's Six-Game Run

Greinke's Strong Outing Leads D-backs to Crucial Win

The Arizona Diamondbacks halted the San Francisco Giants' six-game winning streak, prevailing 5-2 at Chase Field on Saturday.

Veteran right-hander Zack Greinke delivered another stellar outing for the D-backs, allowing only two runs on five hits over seven innings while striking out six batters.

The 39-year-old Greinke improved to 7-6 on the season, lowering his ERA to 3.71.

Arizona's offense provided just enough support, with Kole Calhoun driving in two runs on a first-inning single.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. added an RBI triple in the third inning, and Carson Kelly contributed a sacrifice fly in the fifth.

The Giants, who entered the game with the best record in the National League, were held in check by Greinke and the D-backs' bullpen.

San Francisco's only runs came on an RBI single by Brandon Crawford in the first inning and a solo homer by Wilmer Flores in the seventh.

The loss dropped the Giants to 72-49, while the Diamondbacks improved to 51-70.

With the victory, Arizona snapped San Francisco's six-game winning streak and avoided a four-game sweep in the series.
